‘Mayday’ from Florida

Civil Air Patrol Florida Wing is currently conducting a wide-area ELT search from Lakeland south to Labelle based on airborne distress signal reports from aircraft in the area.  The reports came from aircraft as high as 17,000 feet creating a very large search area.  CAP is giving this a high priority since there had also been a report of a possible mayday call in the area.  At this time, a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182 and GA-8 Airvan are in the air searching for the ELT source.
