New CAPR 50-17

Posted by Maj Paul Cianciolo on September 23rd, 2009 filed in Professional Development, Regulation Updates

Civil Air Patrol Regulation 50-17, CAP Senior Member Professional Development Program, has been revised.  It affects all officers.

This revision updates procedures for obtaining and updating the Professional Development Report and specialty tracks, testing; and includes other general administrative changes. The revision includes Operations Security Awareness (OPSEC) training as a mandatory component of Level I; and mandates completion of Equal Opportunity (EO) training as part of Level I, as required in CAPR 36-1, Civil Air Patrol Nondiscrimination Program; and refers Test Control Officers to CAPR 50-4, Test Administration and Security, for test administration guidance. This revision also requires Chaplains to enter the regular Professional Development Program; and broadens the list of professional development resident courses that can be used to satisfy “staff or director” duty requirements of Levels IV and V of the Senior Member Professional Development Program and adds PD credits for former cadet accomplishments.

CAP publications and forms are available digitally on the CAP National Web site here.
