NEWS: Arlington recognizes top achievers

ARLINGTON, Va. — Civil Air Patrol’s Arlington Composite Squadron awarded its 2008 Air Force Sergeants Association CAP cadet noncommissioned officer of the year award to Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Jake Dang.

Dang was also selected as the squadron’s cadet noncommissioned officer of the year for 2007. Among other accomplishments, he previously served as the Arlington Composite Squadron cadet commander and was a member of the 2007 National Capital Wing color guard. He also serves as the squadron’s primary representative to the wing cadet advisory council. Dang has progressed through CAP enthusiastically and sets a positive example to his fellow cadets.

AFSA’s annual award was established to recognize the outstanding cadet NCO in each Civil Air Patrol squadron. Air Force Staff Sgt. Paul Piper presented the award to Dang during the squadron’s weekly meeting May 28.
